Sourcing & Roasting Philosophy

Great coffee begins long before the roasting process.

At Lazeeza, sourcing is guided by the belief that exceptional flavor begins with exceptional ingredients. We seek out coffees grown at high elevations where slower maturation allows the beans to develop greater complexity, clarity, and depth of aroma.

Equally important is how those coffees are grown. We prioritize farms and producers who cultivate their coffee with care for the land and for the people who work it — focusing on ethical partnerships, transparent supply chains, and agricultural practices that protect both soil and environment.

Spices are approached with the same philosophy. Cardamom, cinnamon, and other aromatics are sourced for their fragrance and vitality, selected not simply as ingredients but as essential elements of the sensory experience.

Founder Story

A Personal Connection to Coffee

Lazeeza is rooted in memories of coffee shared across cultures and generations.

My family is from Egypt. I was born in Canada and grew up in the United States, but many of my summers were spent in Egypt surrounded by a culture where coffee is part of everyday life.

Coffee there is not rushed. It is brewed slowly, poured into small cups, and shared in conversation that unfolds without urgency. The aroma of coffee and cardamom fills the room long before the first sip.

Those experiences shaped my appreciation for the ritual of coffee — not just the drink itself, but the feeling it creates.

Over time that connection grew into a deeper fascination with flavor, spices, and the culinary traditions that give coffee its distinctive character across different cultures.

Lazeeza is my attempt to capture a small piece of that world — honoring the traditions I grew up around while refining them into something new. A coffee meant to be savored slowly, with all the depth of flavor and aroma that makes the experience unforgettable.
